SDAC Owner Named SBA Florida Small Business Person of the Year
Linda McMahon, recently appointed head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, notified SDAC President and Founder Paul Morrow that he had won the SBA’s 2017 State of Florida Small Business Person of the Year award. SBA assesses award nominees on company growth, increase in sales including net profit and net worth, innovation in products and services, response to adversity and personal community service. McMahon wrote, “Your hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to your employees and community have helped you build an outstanding business that has strengthened your state’s economy. The SBA is pleased to celebrate your achievements and recognize your personal role in driving our nation’s economic growth . . . Congratulations on a well-deserved honor.” One measure of SDAC’s success recognized by the SBA award is that the company has doubled its sales, tripled its staff and opened two new corporate locations in the past three years. Morrow’s award charts the phenomenal growth of SDAC from a small A/C repair shop in Homestead, Florida to a multi-state federal government contractor with a strong performance history and high bonding capacity. Morrow will travel to Washington, D.C. on April 30th as part of National Small Business Week to accept his award for the State of Florida. He will then be competing with winners representing every U.S. state and territory for National Small Business Person of the Year.
